Welcome

Welcome to Walnut Grove  United Methodist Church. It has pretty much what you would expect to find on a website – maybe more than we need, but we just want folks to understand who we are and get a sense of us. The best way to find out about us is to visit. I hope you will. I think you will find us inviting and welcoming – but then again, as the  Pastor, I’m probably biased!

If you come, we promise not to single you out, and we promise you a comfortable place alongside folk just like you as we seek to follow God and where God leads in our personal lives and in our life together as a church.

We believe that every congregation that lifts up Jesus as Lord and Savior needs to help people CONNECT with God, each other and the community; open opportunities for folks to SERVE Jesus as we share his love with our community; create opportunities to learn and GROW in our faith; but the most important is to provide a place for us to WORSHIP in a way that effectively reaches our hearts and our minds.  This isn’t rocket science. It’s just the basic stuff we all need as we seek to follow where God leads.

Check us and this website out, and then come visit us for worship. If you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to call or email me.

Advent sermon Series

This year is the 200th anniversary of the debut of "Silent Night, Holy Night." This hymn has become the best-loved worship moment of many Christians–even those who only come to church once a year. Something mystical occurs as we light our candles and sing the hope of "all is calm, all is bright"–peace and light for the world. The Advent Sermon series will celebrate the carol's message over the entire season of Advent and highlight its call for our lives that can guide us all year long.

Dec 2 -- Sleep in Peace

Dec. 9 -- Glorries Stream

Dec. 16 -- Redeeming Grace
